Isaac and Johanna
Isaac and Johanna Peterson are native Oregonians and both Air Force Veterans. After high school, they both joined the Air Force where Isaac worked in armament systems and was stationed in Destin, Florida for 4 years at Eglin AFB. Johanna initially worked in Bio-environmental Engineering doing industrial hygiene/occupational safety and was stationed in California, New Mexico, and Colorado while on active duty for almost 6 years, then trained as an Air Force medic and served for 6 more years in the Air Force Reserve, stationed in Portland at the 939th Rescue Wing. After the Air Force, Isaac went to college and was trained as a surgical technologist and moved back to central Oregon and worked at St. Charles in Bend. Johanna started college while on active duty and when still a reservist, finished her undergraduate degree at Linfield College, graduating w/ honors and Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Biology. She was then accepted to PA School at OHSU in Portland, graduating with a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Upon graduation, she moved to Bend and worked in general and trauma surgery where she met Isaac in the operating room. That is where their story begins. They now have 2 little girls, Paige and Brooke, and Isaac has a teenage son, Zane. They moved to Albany in 2015 when Johanna accepted a position as a PA in the local area. Isaac worked at a surgery center here in Albany and still does part-time doing materials management. They both joined CrossFit R3 in 2016 and soon realized what a great place Corkie and Sherry had built with such wonderful members and caring, supportive staff at both Fitness Experience and R3. Johanna continues to work full-time as a PA where she provides medical care for the local community. You will find Isaac at Fitness Experience and CrossFit R3, where he is dedicated to his members and staff. Isaac and Johanna are both extremely hard working and committed to ensuring the best possible facility and experience for their members. We strive to continue the close-knit family-friendly environment that Corkie and Sherry have established and maintained for the last 20 years. You will see Corkie and Sherry regularly as they have lifelong memberships at Fitness Experience and CrossFit R3.
Management & Training Staff
My education includes: Masters Degree in Exercise Science, Performance Enhancement Specialist through NASM, CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Mobility, CrossFit Endurance, Spinning and Schwinn Cycle, Yoga Fit and LMT.
Personal training, teaching senior fitness classes, CrossFit, and Spinning are great passions of mine. My specialties are injury prevention, post rehabilitation, and weight loss. My hobbies include: trail running, hiking, biking, and NFL Football. Go Hawks!!!
Front Desk Staff
I am a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. My specialty is injury prevention and rehabilitation. My hobbies include baseball, basketball, and longboarding. One of the most valuable things you have in your life is your health. Keeping it at its peak will shape you and set you up for success. I want to help you reach your fitness goals and improve the quality of your life.

Group Fitness Instructors & Personal Trainers
I graduated from Oregon State University in 2013 with my degree in Exercise Sport Science, with a focus on fitness and nutrition. After graduation, I started working at Fitness Experience as a Group Fitness instructor teaching FITT camp, Spin, Silver Sneakers, and AGE classes. In 2014, I became a certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and began my job working in cardiac and pulmonary rehab as an exercise physiologist/case manager.
My favorite class to teach at the gym is FITT camp. The variety of programming keeps you on your toes as an instructor! My favorite class to take is CrossFit Endurance. It has the perfect blend of cardio and strength training!
I grew up in Jefferson, Oregon…the youngest of three and only girl. I’ve spent most my life outside doing anything from camping, water skiing, snow skiing, snowboarding to riding quads, road & mountain biking. In Junior High and High school I played basketball, ran track, and was a cheerleader.
In 1999, I was riding my Banshee (quad) and it flipped over. I was unable to move it back onto four wheels so one of the guys in my riding party did it for me. That lit a fire in me and I joined Fitness Experience (was Gold’s Gym at the time) as soon as I got back into town. Within my first month at the gym, I started going to spin class and then I met two gym members who took me under their wing and showed me how to lift. Within 6 months I was doing pull-ups and building muscle. In late 2000, I competed in my first body building competition and won! In 2002, I went onto to win my professional card as a natural body builder, through the WNBF, and spent two years competing all over the US.
In 2004, I changed my career direction and went back to school full-time. I took a part-time job at Fitness Experience as a Personal Trainer/Front Desk Associate/Spin Instructor. In late 2006 I had to focus more on school so I left my part-time position as a Trainer & Front Desk Associate, but continued to teach spin. In April of 2008 I graduated with my degree in Radiologic Science and took a full-time position working in my field. Throughout my scholastic journey I continued to teach spin because I really enjoy watching people transform their lives and achieve goals they never thought possible.
